Why don%26#039;t dogs ever have %26quot;buck%26quot; teeth?
Most people get bucked teeth from sucking their thumbs when they were young and somethimes those peoples children get them hereditary from their parents. Dogs cant suck their thumbs, but if they could it would be pretty funny. :)
Reply:Because every animal has different teeth. Dogs teeth are more for shredding and chomping. Theirs need to be sharp. They are decendants of the wolf. Wolves are carnivores and tear, shred, and bite into meat.
Reply:SOME DOGS DO!

and i have no idea why lol...

BUT I DO KNOW THAT MUTTS USUALLY GET THOSE TEETH
Reply:Some dogs do. Chinese Crested, some greyhounds.

Reply:they can get a severe over bite, which is similar to buck teeth. some breeds are a little more susceptible, greyhounds actually most sighthounds, chinese crested etc.
Reply:All breeds can get overbite. It can run in some lines more than others. I dont know of a breed where overbite is correct, although some breeds, like pug and boxer, and underbite is correct.

Hairless chinese cresteds have poor dentation.. it just comes with the hairless gene. Missing teeth is acceptable in the show ring. The teeth tend to be smaller and more %26quot;tusklike%26quot;, the roots arent as deep, and the enamel is thinner.. this is all normal for the hairless, however, over and underbites are still incorrect, even in the show ring. Powderpuffs should have normal teeth.
